More photo’s from Seth!!
30 Jan.
The players here are all big and strong, and the training is much harder than in England. All the Brazilian players are really skillful – there’s no long balls here.

A man has been in contact from Zoo Magazine (and others). The BBC have also phoned to see if there’s enough info to make a programme about me. The season runs until the end of April, and then the winners go into Serie D for the second half of the year. I hope to stay until at least the end of April, but it will depend on my visa and how I get on.
27 Jan
No way of getting photos on Facebook at present as so difficult to get on a pc. I am trying to get a copy of the official photo.
26 Jan
I feel like a celeb at the moment. If any English club wants to make an offer, I’d listen! On Talksport in 15 mins.
25 Jan
The woman from Newsbeat just rang they want me to do a proper studio interview but I’m not in the UK so don’t know what’s happening. Doing an interview on Radio Lincs in 90 mins but doubt it will be live (it was)
25 Jan
Now I have internet on my iphone at the hotel so email me! Am on Talksport tomorrow around 3.
I feel famous speaking to that Newsbeat person. Crazy. She speaks exactly the same way as on radio.
24 Jan
On itv tomorrow at 6.20/ 7.20, and, yes, I’d love to go on the show when I get back to England. Did an interview with Radio 5 Live at 8.20 this morning (and dad did one last night at 9.55)

Can’t believe I am in the Mail, Sun, Express, Star and Sport, as well as the ET. And that it all came from the story in the Mercury. Also on loads of websites, even in India, the USA and Guyana (?!)

The attention at training is mad! Every day there are three tv cameras
there, and there’s always people watching.
19th Jan
Training isn’t so much fun at the moment, no ballwork yet as it is still
pre-season and lots of running, which I don’t like so much.

The player who was with Galatasaray is Capone, and he is on YouTube scoring
against Leeds in the Eufa cup semi-final and playing in the final where he
hit David Seaman’s post. Galatasaray went on to win 4-1 on penalties after a
0-0 draw.
The article has been published in loads of magazines and newspapers. there
are five pages on Google if you search. The Brazilians are clearly very
interested in me being here.

Anderson’s girlfriend who has just travelled out from the Uk asked me if I found it hot, and I said no. I hadn’t realised it was 32 degrees at the time. I must be getting used to it.
5th Jan
Our match is on all four of the National tv stations. On one the highlights are repeated every hour, and another showed the game ‘as live’ during the day. We have been told to ‘sleep’ through the morning.

We got hammered lost 4-0 against Sao Carlos, the ‘home’ team. I was on the bench. Stadium was 80% full about 5,000 people there. Got mentioned on globo (Brazil equivament of BBC) earlier this afternoon. There were 17 television cameras that I counted and all the press boxes were full. When I came out to warm up, a television camera followed me the whole time. The crowd were crazy. A whole section spent the entire time jumping up and down, and they were lighting flares all aver the place. There were about 20 policemen in riot gear. When a player scores, they are interviewed straight away. After they celebrate, an interviewer runs alongside them as they jog back to their half. They are then interviewed again after the match. Our next match is the real big one against Palmeiras, who are a Sao Paulo team.
We lost because the shape wasn’t right and not all the players played well. The forwards didn’t hold the ball up well and it kept coming back. We played three in defence, with the full backs cutting in to act as a type of winger. the other team were Ok, and very well organised.
3rd Jan
Arrived for training to be interviewed for one of the national Brazilian television channels. It is crazy. There are flags and posters for this tournament (Copa Sao Paulo Junior) all over the town, more than even for the World Cup. I am on tele three times a day.
2nd Jan
We have arrived at our hotel for the tournament in Sao Paulo. It is the Terraco Perea Hotel in Sao Carlos. Very nice, no pool but a tv showing football 24/7. They discussed me on ESPN. I am the only English player in a tournament of 92 teams.

Stamford AFCÂ has featured in the January edition of
the monthly football magazine 4-4-2. Teenage left-back Seth Burkett has swapped Stamford for Samba soccer after
moving to Brazil on a six month contract with Sorriso Esporte Clube. He had impressed in a summer tour to Salvador with The Daniels youth team

Travelling to the Copa Sao Paolo. Typical Brazilian – the coach was 2 and a half hours late picking us up, and we are now broken down in the middle of nowhere!

Had to run home from the internet cafe. Crazy rain – lightning, everything. Spent last 30 minutes wringing out my clothes. Going to a party tonight before leaving for Sao Paolo tomorrow
Only rice left for us, so am waiting for more food. It is usually based on rice and beans and is pretty good to eat

Need some more clothes: I give my stuff to the kit man to wash and they come back with holes in! I need to go and buy some more but I am not allowed to go into town on my own because of the ‘bang bang!’

‘After training went straight to a friend’s house to swim and watch Man U.
At weekends just go with the flow.’
‘Got moved into the best 11 today in training for the match which meant
being coached for the first time. When we are attacking I have to play
inside the pitch in the position of striker and when defending I have to act
as a winger. I got 2 assists so must have done alright. I was even taking
all of the corners. My footballing profile should appear on the Brazilian
FA website within the next seven days

Today we trained in a ‘sandbox’. this is a big area of loose sand and you
have to do a set of exercises. My legs went really quickly and I can hardly
feel them now we have finished the session.
We spent the whole training session today on shooting practice for the full
backs!
It is really hot here, maximum temperature between 32 and 40 degrees every
day. We train between 8 and 11 in the morning and then rest before training
again about 4pm. Our food is mainly rice and beans, and is good. I share a
room with three others, and there are over twenty of us in the lodgings.
I have been given a Brazilian name – Sefi – and have signed a contract
until Feb 13th. I now have to wait for international clearance which may
take a couple of weeks.

Hi Guy, No Internet here, so will send a regular Text Update..
After a 32-hour journey, I discovered that I had to spend the next few months sharing a room with 5 others. There are 2 rooms, one is the same size with 8 players, and the other is 1 1/2 times bigger with 14.
I’ve made 2 TV appearances, with one being a live studio interview. The team is pretty big in the city with people watching us train, and training sessions are being filmed by the local media.
We train 9 times a week, with 3 match sessions. One of those session was fully focussed on Full Backs shooting!!! As a consequence, I’ve suffered multiple nose-bleeds from my time spent over the half way line (the majority of the time).
Food is rice and beans every day, as expected. Temperature is 40 degrees and sunny everyday.
Most of the lads are 18, although there is one who is 15, and probably one of the best players I have ever seen.
Watch this space.
Hope you enjoy the photos. Seth.
